Events in the Commons
The Tyler Haynes Commons provides meeting room space and audio-visual equipment is available on request. Each meeting/conference room space is equipped with an LCD projector, screen, and VCR/DVD player. Additional equipment is available.
Receptions, Banquets, and Catering
The Cellar, the campus pub, can be reserved for receptions. Maximum capacity is 150. Reservations can be made by contacting the The Cellar management at (804) 287-6820.
The University can provide catering services for your event. For assistance in planning your menu selection, contact the Catering Department at (804) 484-1440.
Performance Space
The Pier can be reserved for performances and entertainment with a seating capacity of 225.
Policies

Glitter and Confetti
Glitter and plastic or metallic confetti is prohibited from the Commons. Paper confetti comprised of pieces no smaller than 3/4 sq. in. may be used. The group or person responsible for the confetti must clean it up immediately following the event.
Pier Tech Contact
An organization hosting an event in The Pier is required to appoint a tech contact. This person will be responsible for any issues the system following the event. The tech contact should know how to turn on, operate, and turn off the Pier sound system and lights. If needed, training will be provided. Tech contact's name must be on file with the Associate Director of Student Activities, Operations, before the event.
